When you have grown up watching The CMA Awards and you know that only a select few artists are nominated for the awards, to be chosen is a huge honor! Brett Young, who is nominated for New Artist of the Year, admits he’s equal parts “nervous” and “excited” to be nominated at this year’s CMA Awards. “That it’s even something I have to think about is such a blessing,” Young tells The Boot. “Nominations, awards, or even just being invited to attend, I feel so flattered and humbled. I can’t believe I get to be a part of this and I get to be there.” Young adds that he’s trying hard to manage his own expectations, noting, “I don’t like to be let down.” Young is nominated alongside Luke Combs, Old Dominion, Jon Pardi, and Lauren Alaina in the New Artist of the Year category. The 2017 CMA Awards will air at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, November 8, on ABC.
